He was partly acquainted to her ...


He was partly acquainted to her from work. They sometimes sat together at lunch and chatted about this and that. They were unremarkably friendly to each other. There was nothing deep in their shallow relationship, nothing that could alter their anodyne good manners and proper behaviour.

And yet there was.

It was always a wonder to him to sense how critically the ongoing placid circumstances might change by the five seconds it would take to utter an inappropriate comment. The power of words was that astonishingly strong. It was sort of tempting to try and tell her he kept having those recurrent wet dreams about her. Her reaction alone was certainly worth the try.
