In this city ...

In this city where I am now, Kyoto, eating pizza in a restaurant down in the basement of ultramodern Kyoto station, the late Simon Jeffes found once an abandoned harmonium someone had thrown away. After a bit of mending Jeffes used it to compose his delicious "Music for a Found Harmonium", a distinctive piece of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Or so the story goes.

That snippet of text was written on August 4th, 2004, a Wednesday. After almost nine years,  time has come today to pay an eagerly awaited second visit to Kyoto.
