They just happen to meet in the street. Sheer chance. A phony conversation begins. It runs awkward all along. A decade has passed. After the inevitable update of each other's lives and the stream of banalities they run out of topics to keep talking. Though their minds are at it no further common ground is found. The silence that follows embarrases them both. It begins to stretch longer than necessary. They exchange numbers and vain promises to keep in touch. Last time they met cell phones were just about to become mainstream. It somewhat comes as a surprise that his friend owns one. He is the kind of guy you would think could do without.
