Mouth agape

Mouth agape, wide open, incredulity or surprise nowhere to be found behind the expression. Instead, the yawning face before my eyes provided a perfect example of what boredom is all about. Those were long, first-class, down-to-earth, enormous yawns. I looked at the student while he went on with his yawning, once, twice, quite a few times during the hour-long lecture. Not a single time was the yawn concealed, not even once the eighteen-year old little bastard placed a hand before his mouth to keep his periodic yawns from sight. Self-satisfied he kept on yawning involuntarily, taking notes distractedly, looking at his watch occasionally, the minutes passing unhurriedly. Made me wonder, made me wonder ...
